Translator, Interpreter (205 Days) Part-Time -(RTP20241108-008)

Description

Serve as an impartial interpreter in Spanish and English between children, parents, and school personnel from various cultural or ethnic backgrounds.
Manage the interpretation of the three-way Hotline between parents and school personnel.
Daily phone activity logs completed

Must be able to work on Saturdays, in the evenings, and at short notice for meetings.
Provide precise and understandable translations of written content while adhering to specifications.

Time and effort reporting standards must be met by all federally supported incumbents of this job by periodic certification or personnel activity reports, as applicable.
Strive for ongoing skill and knowledge growth.

Contribute actively to the team and uphold the District's mission.
Fulfill all other responsibilities and tasks as given.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree from an approved university is preferred; however, 60 college hours must be completed in addition to an accredited high school diploma or its equivalent (U.S.A. Equivalency).
It is necessary to have two years of experience as a translation or interpreter, preferably in a medical or academic setting. demonstrated written and verbal fluency in Spanish and English.
Exhibit excellent oral and written communication abilities in Spanish and English, as well as meticulous proofreading.

familiarity with Word, PDFs, and Google Docs.
Have a suitable workspace to handle calls if you're working from home.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, time-management, prioritization, and organizing abilities
Proficiency in operating FM transmitters and receivers (interpretation devices)
Transportation must be dependable.
Show that you can work alone.
